My Thoughts on Lux...

How do you put in words and convey to clear thought something that makes you think, WHAT THE HELL!! How do you express how a series can suck you down the rabbit hole and having your mind spinning and reeling for days? After reading Lux that is exactly what I ponder as I sit her writing my review. There is no way my words can give this book justice! It’s just impossible! If you are looking for a book to knock your socks off and that will blow your mind this is it! I almost feel like that old anti-drug commercial. You know, the “this is your brain” and they show an egg, then the commercial cuts to the egg being fried in a pan, and “this is your brain on drugs”. I’m like no wait… THAT IS MY BRAIN AFTER READING LUX!!  There is no better way to explain it!

I wish I could explain the plot line but I just hate to give this book away! I am a firm believer of déjà vu, fate, and all things happen for a reason. This one is so open to interpretation on how the ending plays out it’s almost like is the glass half full or is the glass half empty. It’s all how you look at it!! I HIGHLY recommend it and say you have to have an open mind. 5 HUGE STARS!!

Tough Enough by M. Leighton Excerpt & Pre-Order!

October 5th

  cooltext144169227680732

From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes the second book in a dark, sexy contemporary trilogy.
He’s a fighter who never loses, but is he tough enough to win her heart?

There was a time when I had everything–a wonderful family, a bright future. Love. But all that was taken away in a single night, torn from me like flesh from bone. Since then, I’ve hidden away in my second-choice job as a makeup artist. But I prefer it that way, actually. I’m comfortable in the shadows, where no one can see my scars.

Kiefer Rogan literally took my breath away the moment I met him. MMA champion-turned-actor, notorious playboy, charming to a fault—he’s everything I vowed to avoid.

But he just wouldn’t stop until I opened up and let him in. Maybe I should’ve tried harder to resist him. Maybe I shouldn’t have fallen in love with him. Because I, of all people, know that everyone has secrets. Scars. And that they’re usually ugly and painful and destructive to the people we love most.

I just never guessed that they could be deadly, too.

She gets all fidgety and nervous and adorable under my scrutiny, so I release her. Albeit reluctantly.
“So, a minivan,” she says, dropping her eyes and clearing her throat. I love that I put her off balance. I doubt much gets under this girl’s skin and I’m happy as hell that I appear to be making my way in, slowly but surely.
“A minivan,” I confirm, raising the wine bottle and glass questioningly.
“Oh, sorry. Kitchen’s through there.” Katie points to the most obvious doorway and I head in that direction. She follows after a few seconds. When I stop at the small island, she breezes past me, setting down the glass that I brought her and keeping her face averted. Makes me think she might be blushing again. After she rummages through a drawer for another minute, she turns her composed self back to me, a corkscrew in one hand. “There has to be a story behind it.”
“Behind what?” I ask, content to just watch her rather than talk. Or think.
Her grin is more pronounced this time. “Behind the minivan.”
“Oh, right. The minivan. I have a brother who came with me. He’s handicapped. I dropped him off at the gym on the way to the park.”
Her expression softens. Visibly. “Y-you have a handicapped brother?”
“I do.”
“And you . . . you take him places with you? You take care of him?”
I shrug. “Well, I don’t know about that. I mean, he’s grown, so . . .”
“Does he live with you?”
“For the most part.”
“That’s . . . that’s . . .” Katie is looking at me like she’s just now seeing me. Really seeing me. After several seconds, she glances down at the counter, at the glasses she’s arranging in a straight line with the bottle of red. “That’s very kind of you. I’m sure he appreciates it.”
“I’m sure he does, but like most guys, he’s got a piss-poor way of showing it.”
“Just like a damn man,” she says softly, glancing up at me from beneath her lashes, the hint of a playful smile still curving her lips.
“Bastards,” I reply.
Her eyes sparkle up at me and it takes every ounce of willpower I have not to haul her into my arms and kiss her senseless. Which might take a while. She’s got plenty of sense about her. Too much, maybe.
After a minute, when the temperature in the little kitchen is rising noticeably, Katie clears her throat again, pulling that swath of rich auburn hair over her shoulder like I’ve seen her do before. “So what is it that you drive when you’re not carting your brother around?”
“Maybe if you’re nice to me I’ll show you one day.”
She grunts indignantly, her lips parting yet still curved. “I’m always nice to you.”
“But you could be nicer,” I tell her with a half-grin.
She raises one dark brow, the sexiest damn thing I think I’ve ever seen on a woman. Besides her licking the corner of her mouth when she’s concentrating or nervous, that is. “And just how . . . nice are you expecting me to be?”
“Not that nice,” I answer. “Unless you just want to be that nice. I would never argue if you wanted to be extra, extra, extra nice to me.”
I give her my widest, most innocent smile. She laughs outright, an action that fills the kitchen with a delicate tinkle and turns her face from beautiful to breathtaking. A display like this from her is pretty rare, so pulling it out of her makes me feel like I’ve won the lottery.
“Do that again,” I request quietly, so drawn to her that I can’t stop myself from moving closer, from reaching out, from touching.
“Do what again?” she asks. When I cup her silky cheek in my palm, she straightens, but she doesn’t back away. A good sign.
“Laugh.”
“I can’t laugh on command,” she explains, her eyes flickering up to mine and away, up to mine and away.
“I swear to God, I think I’d do just about anything to hear that again, to see your face light up like that.”
My thumb blindly stroking the crest of her high cheekbone, I catch and hold her eyes this time. They’re like melted sapphires, a fathomless liquid that I could easily let myself drown in.
Katie’s lips open and close a couple of times, like she’s trying to find words where there are none. But the time for talk is over. I feel like I’ve waited patiently for an eternity to taste, and now it’s time for my reward.
Slowly, I bend my face toward hers, hoping she won’t move away, praying that she won’t stop me. “You’ve been on my mind since the first day I saw you, Beautiful Katie. It’s time you give me the answer to a question that’s been haunting me for weeks.”
I can feel the sweet, shallow puffs of her breath fanning my lips as I get closer. “W-what’s that?”
“Do your lips taste like cotton candy?”
“How would I know?” she asks a bit dazedly.
“Give me five minutes and I’ll tell you.”
I bring my other hand up to hold her face still as I brush my mouth over hers. When she doesn’t move away, doesn’t push me away, I sink into her lips like I might sink into a bed made of marshmallows. Sweet, plump, light-as-air marshmallows. And, God help me, Katie sinks right back.

Excerpt

Entering his building made her feet lighter. She was being carried on the wings of euphoria, each step easier than the last. She wasn’t walking to her future. She was running toward it. Taking a breath, she held it, and knocked on his door.

The door opened and he stood there with his lips parted and confusion furrowing his brow. “Jude?”

Throwing herself forward, she jumped up and wrapped her body around his and kissed him. Then again. He kicked the door closed and held her against it. When they parted, they remained close enough to share their panting breaths. He said, “You’re here.” When he pressed his abs against her center her head knocked hard on the wood and he kissed the exposed skin of her neck where it met her shoulder.

He was strong. He was virile. “Hey,” she said, bringing his face up to see hers.

Lowering her down until her feet touched, he said, “I thought we were meeting at the park?”

“I couldn’t wait.”

His glorious smile chose to shine on her. “I’m glad you didn’t. Do you want to go to the bedroom?”

Giggling, she replied, “Yes, so much, but I need to talk to you first.”

“Okay.” He walked to the couch and she stared gob-smacked by his allure. Jeans that hung low. No shirt. Boxers peeking out the top, but a V that directed her eyes below the waistband. He was a tease as he stood there waiting for her to join him. Sitting on the couch, he patted it. “C’mere.”

She started walking on shaky legs. As she passed the bar, she debated if she should stay there to save her clarity. That seat next to him was tempting, but she knew she’d be flat on her back within seconds. So she hurried to his side and sat down. His hands were instantly on her.

My Thoughts on Until I Met You....

I love romance stories that are against all odds. People that don’t belong together but fit like two pieces of a puzzle. This couldn’t be truer for Hazel and Jude in Until I Met You by SL Scott!! Even though they come from the same circle of friends, they couldn’t be more different. At first I was thinking to myself I don’t know about this one, but as the story develops I found myself rooting for them and loving them! There were times where I laughed, there were times were it felt like my heart was ripped from my chest, and there were times that then melting my broken heart! This is definitely one you don’t want to pass up!

Jude is a little eccentric at times. She likes jellybeans in her muffin and she likes eating ice cream in the middle of winter. She is under the control of her family and they have convinced her she is going crazy and have committed her several times to a mental hospital.

Hazel aka Taylor lives a life where he does everything that is expected. We went to a good college and now has a job as an architect. There is nothing out of the ordinary for him up until he was diagnosed with a crippling disease. Still, he doesn’t stray much for the norm. He is just going through the motions of life knowing he has a limited life span.

The two cross paths at a party. Hazel calls out Jude for double dipping and when she responds with an “I know what I did and I don’t care” type of attitude he is enthralled with her. He is fascinated with her carefree spirit and is drawn to her. He feels like Jude is thing that has been missing from his life and now that she is there, he will do anything to keep her there, except tell her about his disease.

What Jude doesn’t know is Hazel needs him just as much as he needs her. Jude has her own demons and struggles to fight with her family. She feels if she just does what they say she will get her normal life back. As the story unfolds my heart just breaks for them both!! How they say opposites attract and Hazel and Jude couldn’t be more different! But it works for them! Jude’s family has their own agenda and as I stated before, they are controlling and will do everything in their power to get her committed. Money, power, and extortion are all things that stand in the way of their happiness. Will Jude and Hazel find their happy ever after or will greed bring them and any chance at love to ruins? This is one that is a MUST READ! 4.5 stars!!

Derek

“Melissa…” The word is a whisper on my lips, and I’m on my feet.

Elaine and Patrick are talking. He’s turning on all the charm, and she’s falling for

it hard—or maybe she’s already fallen for him, and all his charms are sweet icing on

the cake. She sure walked into this bar and straight to him as if she knew full well

the strange transformation happening in his mind.

None of it matters. I’m consumed by the discovery of Melissa. She sees me. Her

sapphire eyes hold me, and a mixture of deep longing and cautious optimism moves

through me.

I want her. I’ve wanted her all day. From this morning in the shower to every

other minute of this long-assed day, I’ve thought about her luscious lips, her

gorgeous breasts, her long legs wrapped around my waist. I’m at the door where

she’s standing, keeping the glass between her and the bar as if it were a shield.

“Hello,” I say with a smile. “I’m really glad to see you again.”

Blinking down, she seems almost guilty when she answers. “I wasn’t able to be

at Mr. B’s tonight. I’m sorry if you waited.”

She wasn’t there. The idea sends a wash of relief through me followed quickly by

disappointment. I debate my next words.

“It’s okay,” I say. “I’m really glad you’re here now.”

Her hand trembles a bit, and I can’t help wondering if I make her nervous. Is it

possible this small, beautiful woman who holds my entire breath in her hands is

nervous?

“Did you come here after dinner?” she says.

I decide to be honest. “I wasn’t at Mr. B’s tonight either.” Her eyes blink quickly

to mine. “A job took me away from the city, and I couldn’t make it back in time. I’m

so glad you weren’t there.”

“And what if I had been there?” The defiance in her tone fans my smoldering

desire even hotter. She’s so fucking strong.

“I’d do everything in my power to earn your forgiveness.”

I’ve stepped outside, closer to her, and she inhales sharply. Her gorgeous eyes

blink up to mine, and I want to taste her so badly my mouth waters. The scent of

ocean-kissed roses, her scent floats around us. I want it all over me again.

She exhales a little sigh, glancing toward the bar. “Lucky for you, I’ve had a

really shitty day. I’m in a forgiving mood.”

“I had no idea it was going to be such a lucky day for me.”

A hint of a smile crosses her lips, and I want to gather her in my arms and love

the shittiness away. Lifting my finger, I lightly trace a line up the smooth skin of her

arm to her shoulder, and she shivers. Her breathing shallows, and it’s almost too

much for me. I mentally calculate how far we are from Pirate’s Alley. The Royal

Sonesta is closer.

“Let’s go to my hotel.”

Her eyebrows pull together. “You want to—”

“Spend the night with you.” I reach for her hand. “Yes, I want to spend the night

with you… like before.”

Shaking her head, she moves out of my reach. “I’m sorry. I don’t do the walk of

shame.”

“I would never let you walk home alone.”

Her back is to the glass doors and she seems to consider my offer. I take a

chance, rubbing my hand across my chin. “A bed would be more comfortable, and I

would do anything to see your gorgeous body spread across my sheets.”

She blinks up at me through her lashes, and desire spikes in my veins. I know

she remembers last night. I glance quickly back in the bar to see Patrick dirty-

dancing behind Elaine. She’s smiling with her blonde head thrown back on his

shoulder, and from the looks of things, they’ll be in a bed together before long.

Closing the distance between us, I speak softly, right at her temple. “Can I have

you tonight. Please?”

Only a brief hesitation, and she whispers, “Yes.”

 My Thoughts on One Immortal...

I’ve always been intrigued by Tia Louise’s books and unfortunately when she would have a new release, my review scheduled would be booked. So when I saw her release for One Immortal I thought to myself, I so need to get this read! A Vampire Love Story, it’s almost Halloween, PEFRECT! I am so thankful I did! I loved Derek and Melissa’s story! It’s sexy, it’s intriguing, and it’s suspenseful!! I was sucked into the story and found myself in fantasyland in a world of vampires, shifters, and things that go bump in the night!

Melissa was just turned by a vampire and she knows her days are numbered. She must either kill to stay alive or she will die. She does not want to turn into a vampire so her and her best friend turn to New Orleans to try to find an alternative. There has to be another way to break the curse. She must find a way or die as she refused to kill someone to become a vampire.

Derek is a vampire hunter. He has been tracking a vicious killer that brings him to New Orleans to find answers. Little does he know the one thing that he is tracking will be the one thing he falls for. When Melissa and Derek cross paths they immediately feel a connection that is off the charts! It’s hot, it’s steamy, and smoking hot as hell! The chemistry they share is off the charts! It’s like they are soul mates that have known each other a lifetime.

When Derek discovers Melissa has turned he will do everything in his power to save her and in the process discovers the truth behind the killer he has been searching for. This one is an edge of your seat thriller that is hot as sin! Perfect time of year to curl up to a PNR book and I would highly recommend this one!  4 stars!!

Love is fatal; a snake that slithers into your life, poisons you with its venom, and leaves you there to die. I swore I wouldn’t be my parents. I swore I would stay away from the limelight. Falling in love with a musician was definitely out of the question. Weston Carter was all kinds of wrong for a girl like me. He was musician, a womanizer, and a first class heartbreaker. I didn't know a love like this could exist. Our love was epic, the kind people wrote stories about. We fell into it hard, unable to control our feelings. I set myself up for a shattered heart. A broken life. A fucked up love story.

My Thoughts on Invisible Love Letter...
When my book friend Linda messaged me one day practically screaming at me to READ THIS BOOK NOW I know she was serious! She works in public relations and it’s not often that she is telling me to drop everything and read this one so I knew this was going to be EPIC! I knew at one part it would probably rip my heart out (but Linda knows I love a good heart ripping) and I knew it would be I soon wouldn’t forget! Well after reading I can tell you that this is one that you need to STOP EVERYTHIND AND READ! Invisible Love Letter by Callie Anderson just blew me away! It sucked the life out of me and left me heart broken. I love it when a book brings out so much emotion in the reader and this did if for me! I wanted to strangle Emmy and I wanted to have Weston’s babies! I wanted them to find their happy place but it just seems like things could never be in sync for them.

Emmy knows the rock and roll lifestyle, she was born into it. Her father was a musician and her mother toured with his group. Her parents had to kind of love that is once in a lifetime. They were soul mates and when Emmy’s mother passes away, she saw the devastation first hand that left his father in shambles. She saw how it destroyed him and she vowed never to fall in love, especially with a musician. Even though one of her closest friends is in a band and she works in the music industry she knows to stay far away from falling for one of them. With groupies and drugs, it’s a combination she wants no part of!

Weston… sigh….. Just saying his name makes me all warm and fuzzy! I just loved him! Weston is everything that Emmy thinks she needs to stay away from. He’s the lead singer of a band and he always has different women around him. But Weston is determined to show Emmy how wrong she is. He is determined to have her fall in love with him. Against her better judgment, she opens her heart. They start a passionate love affair you can only dream about.

Just when I’m thinking finally, Weston gets the call that every band dreams of. The band is starting to make it big and Emmy knows first-hand how love can hold back a music career. But she also has a secret that she feels will change everything, that it will ruin Weston’s dreams. So she does the one thing she thinks is best, she sets him free. She tells him they could not be together, that he needs to live his dream and forget about her.

Right about now the kindle throwing starts, the angry messages to the author happen, and I’m left pissed off!!! And then I think to myself, gah… I love it!!!! Fast forward four years and Emmy and Weston’s paths cross again. Being the sucker for true love, I’m so frustrated with Emmy! Why can’t she just let her guard down and open her eyes to how good she and Weston’s love can be???!!! She thinks she is doing the best thing for her and protecting herself when all she is doing is going through the motions of life.

Will their passion they share still be there all these years? What happens when Weston discovers her secret? She has protected herself for years and now in a blink of an eye, her world starts to crumble around her. Will Weston be able to forgive her? You’ll need to read Invisible Love Letter to find out!! 5 huge stars!!!

Excerpt of DIRTY ENGLISH

"Come to my apartment and spend the night with me.” I touched his face, my fingers stroking the softness of his sensuous lips. “Just one night and we can make this shitty world disappear.”

He exhaled. “A one-night stand?”

“Yeah.”

He cupped my chin. “Someone hurt you, didn’t they?”

My lips tightened. No one at Whitman knew about Colby except for Shelley and Blake, and I sure as hell wasn’t telling him. He’d judge me like everyone else had in Petal, North Carolina. “That’s none of your business.”

“I see.” His eyes searched mine until I felt like a bug under a microscope. “What if I wanted more than just one night?”

“Then your hands can let go of my hips now.”

He removed his hands slowly, the tips of his fingers grazing mine. “This may surprise you, but I don’t sleep with every girl I kiss.”

I’d been rejected. Again. “Blake said you got around, that you used—”

“And you believed him?” His voice was incredulous. “Dude is in love with you and he saw exactly how we looked at each other tonight—”

“Looked at each other? What are you talking about? You refused to dance with me and then you ran off with your girlfriend. Not to mention I just kissed you and you didn’t even care.” I threw my hands up.

“I wanted to fuck you the minute you walked in that party,” he snapped.

“Then why don’t you,” I bit out, tossing back my shoulders.

“You think you want me?” he said tightly. “You can’t handle me, Elizabeth. I can see it in your eyes. You’re scared of something, maybe not me, but something.”

My eyes went to his black eye.

He let out a harsh laugh. “Ah, that’s what you’re afraid of. You want the real truth? You told me tonight you didn’t like violence, but I’m an arsehole who uses his fists. That’s who I am.”

“What do you mean?”

His gaze was intense, dark and low, his face struggling as he fought to find the right words. “I’m in a fight club for money. I show up at warehouses and fight other blokes. Sometimes I beat them so bad they need medical attention. A few times, I’ve been beat to unconsciousness. I’m everything you need to stay away from.”

I inhaled, anger and lust and excitement all riding me. Anger that he was pushing me away, lust for the alpha male in him, and God help me, the fighting thing repelled me and excited me at the same time. “I don’t want to stay away from you. I want you to fuck me and stop making excuses for why you can’t.”

My words seemed to snap his taut restraint.

He pulled me back in his arms, his lips fusing with mine unerringly. His tongue plundered me in a sensual way my body had craved for years. I wrapped my arms around his neck, my anger morphing into all-out desire as he turned us and pressed me against the wall.

Yes, yes, this is what I craved.

A passion to remind me that I was real, not just some sad excuse of a girl who chose to exist on scraps of love.

Before I knew it, he’d shoved my robe off, his hands sculpting my shoulders, massaging them as he ravaged my mouth. I reveled in the warmth of his hand on my neck as his mouth skated down, kissing the hollows of my throat, sucking on my collarbone.

“Like this?” he asked, his voice dark and gravelly. “You want me to take you up against this wall?”

“Yes,” I moaned. Gone. Past caring as long as he kept his hands on me.

Out of control, my brain whispered, but I beat back the dark warnings as his warm hand found my breast and squeezed, his fingers rolling my nipple between his thumb and forefinger.

I gasped in pleasure and arched my back to get closer to his body, ignoring the fear that pricked at the surface.

The rules girl in my head stamped her foot and yelled at me. I ignored her.

But even if I wanted to stop right now, I couldn’t. My tongue tangled wildly with his, my hands pulled at his hair, spurring him on, his hand palming my breast and then tugging. Sharp sensations of need went straight to my core.

“Is this what you want? Something quick where we just take what we want and forget each other the next day?”

No. Not that. Not like the way he said it, like it was something dirty.

“Yes, like that,” I whispered against his shoulder, my mouth on his skin, tasting him as my teeth bit down.

My Thoughts on Dirty English...

I’ve been a stalker oh I mean fan of Ilsa Madden-Mills since she jumped into the book world a couple of years ago. With each novel she releases, she continues to raise the bar higher and I am continually amazed at how she does it! She consistently knocks out books that are witty and sexy and I just want to get lost in the world she created! Dirty English is no exception! Right from the prologue, I was held captive and I never wanted the book to end! For established authors that I follow I like to go into books blind, I don’t read blurbs, teasers, or the synopsis. I quickly discovered that Dirty English is based on Jane Austin’s Pride & Prejudice. After reading, I so want to go back and read!! I’ve always known about this epic love story but now I’m curious to go and actually read it! So thank you Ms Mills, not only did you suck me into your story you want me to actually read a classic!! This one also has a great supporting cast of characters and I hope to see some spin offs!!

Elizabeth comes from the wrong side of the tracks, growing up in a trailer and she’s had to work hard to get a scholarship to the best private school. Her passion is designing jewelry but when an unthinkable event happens her senior year of high school, it causes her to shut down. She is now just going through the motion of life. Her goal is to study hard and to make it through college. She has no time for love, no time for friendships. Her junior year of college she finally moves out of the dorms and has saved money to rent an apartment.

That when’s she first lays eyes on him. She knows he’s trouble. He’s everything she’s worked so hard to stay away from. She is determined to stay far away from the handsome brit, Declan, that moved in next door. But the more she gets to know him the more she starts to feel things she’s never felt. He smart, sexy, and wants to be a professional fighter. Declan comes from money and she doesn’t think he could fall for a girl like her. She’s been in love once with someone that is all about status and that left her a shell of a person she once was.

When Declan be able to show Elizabeth there is more to him than a fighter. That when he loves someone he will do what he can to protect them, no matter what. Will Elizabeth finally open her eyes or has too much time passed? Has Declan got tired of waiting and moved on with his life? You’ll need to read to find out! This is one that will be on top of my favorite list for 2015! I absolutely loved it! 5 huge stars!!

Genre: Romantic Suspense / Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 13, 2015

Blurb
I should have resisted him, but I couldn’t. My addiction to him was all-consuming, the high from his touch unlike any other.

Without him, I couldn’t focus, couldn’t think, couldn’t breathe.

With him, I hated myself for being too weak to fight the devil himself.

And Tyler Burnham was the devil.

He used me.

He lied to me.

But he loved me. And he still does.

Unable to stop thinking about the man who deceived her, Mackenzie Delano struggles to move on with her life and forget that Tyler Burnham ever walked into her life. But she still aches for him, despite his betrayal. Her mind is at war with her heart, a war that could be the difference between living and dying.

Tyler Burnham is lost without Mackenzie. As he contemplates the meaning of everything, he tries to find a way to prove that his feelings for her are true. That he would walk through fire to keep her at his side. That he would sacrifice it all…his career, his fortune, his life…to protect her.

The truth is, he may just have to…

Recommended for readers 18 & up due to strong language, explicit sexual situations, and graphic violence.

This is the second book in a two-book duet, which must be read in order. If you have not yet read Chasing The Dragon, please start there.

Excerpt

“Wait, Mackenzie!” Tyler cried out after me. “Tell me what you want me to say and I’ll say it! Letting you walk away from me once was the biggest mistake of my life. I won't do it again.”

I spun around just as I was about to open the front door. “You let me walk away from you?” I hissed, my teeth clenched.

“That’s not what I meant.” He ran his hands through his dark brown hair and I could see the desperation wash over him. “What I meant to say is all the lies, all of it… I’m so sorry I put you through it. But do you think I regret any of it?” His eyes grew more intense and impassioned, his chest heaving as he poured his heart out to me. “Not for a second.”

I glared at him, waiting for him to explain.

“If it wasn’t for all the lies, for my assignment, I never would have met you, so I’m not going to say I regret a fucking second of any of it. I don’t care what it takes to win back your heart. You can push me away all you want. You can tell me you’ll never forgive me, that there will never be an us again, but I will always come back for you. A hundred times. A thousand times. I will fight for us until I take my last breath.”

He stepped toward me, grabbing my hand in his, caressing my knuckles in such a delicate way that made me want to melt into a puddle.

“Please, Mackenzie…” He leaned toward me, brushing his lips against my forehead, kissing me so delicately, so lightly. “Serafina,” he whispered, “tell me what it will take and I’ll do it.”

Despite everything he had just said, I simply couldn’t let him back in. Relationships were based on trust, and Tyler took my trust and used it against me. I couldn’t forget that, no matter how much my skin yearned for his touch.

“You want to know what it’s going to take?” I asked softly, freeing my hand from his grasp.

He nodded, nervous anticipation radiating through his body as he looked at me with eager eyes.

“It’ll take one more time,” I murmured, opening the door. Peering over my shoulder, I saw his deflated expression. “It will always take one more time.”
